Frequently asked questions
Clear answers to the questions we get asked.
Plain, factual answers about ADR Class 7, nuclear medicine transport, dedicated same-day delivery and coverage.
What is an ADR Class 7 courier?
An ADR Class 7 courier is a carrier licensed and equipped to transport radioactive materials by road under the ADR dangerous goods regulations. Class 7 covers radioactive substances such as medical isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals. Dixons Dispatch specialises in ADR Class 7 transport and has carried radioactive materials for NHS hospitals for over 40 years.
Who transports nuclear medicine between hospitals in the UK?
Specialist ADR Class 7 couriers transport nuclear medicine between hospitals. Because radiopharmaceuticals decay quickly, they travel on dedicated same-day vehicles with ADR certified drivers. Dixons Dispatch has provided this service to the NHS for over 40 years from its base in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
What does “dedicated load” mean?
A dedicated load means your consignment is the only thing on the vehicle. It is collected and driven directly to the delivery address with no co-loading, no depot stops and no other customers’ goods on board. Every job Dixons Dispatch carries is a dedicated load.
Do you deliver the same day?
Yes. Same-day dedicated delivery is our standard service. We collect your consignment and drive it directly to anywhere in England, Scotland or Wales the same day.
Do you deliver internationally?
No. Dixons Dispatch is deliberately UK-only. We cover England, Scotland and Wales with dedicated vehicles.
Can you carry dangerous goods?
Yes, in limited quantities and under full ADR compliance, with ADR certified drivers and DGSA support. Our specialism is ADR Class 7, radioactive materials. Tell us about your load and we will confirm whether we can carry it legally.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, and collect and deliver across the whole of the UK. Local collections in Hertfordshire are typically fastest.
How do I get a quote?
Use the quote form on this site. Tell us the collection and delivery postcodes, the deadline, the size and weight, and pick a vehicle. We come back quickly, usually within minutes in working hours. There is no obligation.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry goods in transit insurance and full compliance cover for regulated loads.
Do you work with the NHS?
Yes. Dixons Dispatch has worked with NHS hospitals for over 40 years, carrying nuclear medicine, samples, equipment and urgent consignments between sites.
Still have a question?
